Wes Costmes

Ves costumes are the main costume in the upland dance tradition. This outfit consists of several parts. Varaka wood has been used to create this and it is beautiful in the old craftsman's designs, silver metals and Kiriwallah wood have also been used. This dress is embellished with bark, beads, silver buttons.



Gata beraya

Wood such as Esala, Kohomba, Varaka is used to make the gatbera and monkey or talagoi skins are used for the drum.

Kohombakankariya

Kohombakankariya Shanthikarma is called Kohombakankarya Shanthikarma because God Kohomba presides over it. All classical dances associated with upland dance have been born on this Shantikarma. Conducted on traditional and modern purposes. Featuring beautiful dance routines with and without vocals.

Lowland dance Tradition

The main distinguishing feature of the Lowcountry dance tradition is the use of masks in the dance. After learning the basic dance elements like Dandiyame Haraba, Ilangam Haraba, Wattama, Matra Pana etc., a beginner studying the low country dance also learns the Holy Matra dance as a complete dance. Thelme Costumes

The main costume of the Lowcountry dance tradition is the Thelme costume. The parts related to this, such as shiva bharana, hatta, waist shape, etc., are made of cloth like villuda, and things like milk beads and beads are caught and finished in a colorful and shiny manner. The Devol costume and the Wadiga Patuna costume also belong to this dance tradition.

Yak beraya

Devol madu Shanthikarmaya


Devol Madu Shanthikarma is the main Shanthikarma performed for the popular deity in the lowlands. Devol Madu dance is practiced in the society under three forms.
1. Devol Madhu Shanthikarya held every year in Pattini temples.
2. Devol madu which is done in a public place for the sake of the village and the country.
3. A person's illness or Shanthikarma to seek peace for the householders

Sabaragamu dance tradition



Sabaragamu dance tradition is less popular. A dance tradition mastered by the nobles, the main outfit, the beaded suit, complements the aristocratic attire. This sounds like a very devotional dance tradition.There are different opinions about whether Sabaragamu belongs to the dance tradition. There are 18 found here. Sabaragamu traditional dance costums


Bead Costumes

Daula

Pahan madu Shanthikarmaya


Pahanmadu Shanthikarmaya, which belongs to the Sabaragamuwa dance tradition, is performed based on Goddess Pattini. Deva Thovil or Madu Shantikarma is one of the Shantikarmas. Patthini and Kataragama Deity led by Sapirivara decorates the shed with lamp light, so it is called Pahan Maduwa. Shanthikarma is considered to be the lamp shed because every house in the village where the lamp shed is lit with oil made from Noidul.
